Another noob!

Hello, I'm Kieran, I live in Penistone, South Yorkshire and I've just bought a 1979 series 2 1500 super allegro.
That's the 'Allegro Anonymous' introduction out of the way!
Bought the car to use for fun and have plans to use it for sprint and hillclimb events (pre 1981, upto 1500 road going cars). Last year I built and restored my girlfriends 1979 mini clubman, but never being a fan of the Mini, I want something bigger.
Plans are to build the engine to 'fast road' spec (reground camshaft, gas flowed head, motorbike carburettors, Ford ESC ignition), and see how we get on from there.
Me and the gf seem to celebrate the British car industry, this is our drive way!
No doubt I'll be asking stupid questions along the way, so apologies in advance!
